Petzl Boreo

The Petzl Boreo is a durable, reinforced and versatile helmet for all forms of climbing and mountaineering. A hybrid construction with a durable ABS crown, high density expanded polypropylene foam and expanded polystyrene liners makes the Boreo protective yet still light weight. The foam liners give it an compact look and feel.

It offers good head coverage with it being lower at the back, fully protecting the back of the head from backward falls and impacts. Reinforced for frontal, lateral and rear impacts, offering you total head protection. Double adjustment buttons at the rear and an adjustable chinstrap allow for efficient and quick adjustments. Two exterior hooks and a rear elastic strap are designed to attach and secure your headtorch to.

Petzl's Top and Side Protection is an additional level of protection over the EN 12492 / UIAA 106 rating for climbing helmets that the Boreo also meets. To meet Petzl's Top and Side Protection critera the Boreo is tested by dropping a 5kg mass from 50cm on to the front, rear and sides of the helmet. This extra level of protection offers extra coverage which is important in not just climbing and mountaineering, but also caving, via ferrata and conyoning.
