The Rab Microlight Range has been redesigned and expanded for winter 2018. The Microlight Alpine was the original jacket of the range and has been ever popular. Here’s a rundown of what’s new and what’s changed.
Microlight Alpine / Womens Microlight Alpine
The classic, the original, Rab’s popular narrow baffle down jacket. Ideal for layering in cold weather, and as an outer when it’s not so bitter. It also looks great so is ideal as a technical pub jacket too.
It has been redesigned for Autumn 2018 with a new cut featuring an improved arm shape and fewer seams, diagonal pockets for easier hand warming and a thicker cuff design to keep more heat in.
Microlight Summit Jacket
A more technical version of the classic Microlight Alpine the Microlight Summit Jacket uses a special ‘Pertex Quantum Infinity Weave’ fabric with a ‘seamless build’ meaning that the baffles are seamless. This saves weight, allows it to be packed smaller and is warmer. It also has a longer cut than the Microlight Alpine.

Womens Microlight Alpine Long
The Womens Microlight Alpine Long is much the same as the classic Microlight Alpine but has a longer cut to give better coverage. This makes it a better choice for those looking to use it in the outdoors rather than just round town.
Microlight Jacket / Womens Microlight Jacket
The Microlight Jacket takes the Microlight Alpine and removes the hood making a jacket much more suited to layering. It’s had the same revamp that the Microlight Alpine has had this year as well, with the improved fit, new cuffs and redesigned pockets.
Microlight Vest / Womens Microlight Vest
The Microlight Vest is a great choice for a bit of extra warmth either as an outer or mid layer. Obviously the redesign hasn’t changed as much with the Vest but it has still had the new pockets fitted.
