We’ve sold more Avalanche Airbags this year that ever before and lots of them have been Mammut airbags. If you’re still considering one but not sure on the practicalities of actually owning one or if you’ve got one but have some questions about maintenance and using the system then here are a load of videos by Mammut which should be of help.
As Mammut have 2 airbag types, ‘Protection’ and ‘Removable’ there are 2 videos under each heading, 1 for each airbag type. The intro videos are a great way to see the differences between the systems.
Please note: The videos below are all for the latest 3.0 system. For similar videos of the older 2.0 system have a look at Mammut’s Youtube channel.
For information on how airbags work and the different types please read out Avalanche Airbag Information article.
For information on flying with a compressed gas cylinder please read our Travelling with your Avalanche Airbag page.
If you need any further information then of course you can give us a call and we’ll be able to help you.
Videos below are:
- Removing the Airbag system
- Installing the Airbag system
- Resetting after use
Intro video showing:
- Parts needed for operation
- Preparing and deploying
- Test deployment
- Attaching Equipment
If you don’t want to carry the weight of the airbag and system and want to use the pack just as a pack then you can take the system out. Here’s how…
And this is how to put the airbag system back in…
And finally, resetting it after use. Mammut strongly advise that if you’ve used the pack in an avalanche you send it to them to get it checked before using it again.
