Free Avalanche Awareness Course

We are pleased to announce that Facewest will be holding an Avalanche Awareness day alongside Arc’teryx and the BMG (British Mountain Guides). The day’s activities will consist of transceiver training and avalanche safety, along with tips and instruction from experienced British Mountain Guide, Graham McMahon.

Graham McMahon

Graham has over 25 years of mountain experience, and currently spends the winters skiing and the summers climbing. He also provides avalanche training for the Ski Club of Great Britain and heads the mountaineering training for the UK’s UIAA Diploma in Mountain Medicine. You can check out Graham’s website here: www.mountainguide.eu.com.

The knowledge gained from this event is vital to anyone who spends time in the mountains. The day promises not only to be incredibly helpful, but also a good bit of fun.

The course will take place on Saturday 10th January 2015 at the Edale Youth Hostel and will begin at 9:30am, with a likely finish time of around 5pm.
