    Full Description

The Thermarest Prolite Apex is a lightweight and warm self inflating mattress. It offers plenty of comfort, even in cooler conditions, without taking up a huge amount of space in your pack. As a self inflating mat it uses its expanding foam core to fill with air and then requires just a few breaths to reach the required firmness.

Thermarest's StrataCore Construction gives the best warmth to weight ratio in any self inflating mattress. It does this by using a continuous layer of foam between ridges of air and foam. This technology gives the Prolite Apex an R-Value of 3.8 making it suitable for 4 season use. The WingLock valve system has a large opening for rapid one way inflation so no air is lost. The WingLock valve also features deflation 'wings' so the mat can be deflated and rolled up easily.

When deflated this is tiny and is is a good size when inflated. I thought it was self inflating (and it is to an extent) but it needed a lot more than a few puffs to top up. So I ended up buying a sack inflater which works well but makes the whole thing very expensive. I left it up for a few days when I first got it and I seemed to need to top up the air again. I did have a good nights sleep on it though.
