Full Description
The Sea To Summit Comfort Plus XT Insulated mat is a very thick 4 season insulated mat which is extra wide and still relatively packable. Sea To Summit have achived this by combining their innovative loop baffle air cells with a lightweight 30/40D nylon fabric and reflective foil/Thermolite insulation.
The Comfort Plus XT Insulated mat has a dual layer construction. These two layers are inflated independently. This has two benifits; you can create an increadibly comfortable surface with a high pressuered base to protect from rough terrain while leaving the top layer less firm. It also means that should one layer be punctured, the mat will still offer some fomfort for the rest of the night. It's also slighty grippy to stop you sliding down the mat on those not quite level campsites. The insulation is a combination of a thin foil layer laminated to the inside of the mat which reflects your own body heat back up and a layer of Thermolite insulation inside the baffles which acts as a regular insulating layer. The inside of the mat also has an anti-microbial treatment to stop mould building up.
At 8cm thick the Comfort Plus XT is a very comforatble mat, especially for side sleepers. The rectangular shape and extra wide measurements also make it a great option for people who want a super comfortable basecamp mat with plenty of wiggle room. At 1050g its also an option for backpackers who want maximum comfort.
