Scott Patrol E1 30

The Scott Patrol E1 30 is an avalanche airbag pack with a generous amount of storage suitable for long days in dangerous terrain in the back country. The Patrol pack uses Alpride's innovative electric E1 airbag system so there's no need to carry compressed air cylinders.

The Patrol 30 pack features everything you need in a touring pack. At 30 litre capacity there's plenty of room for skins, food, extra layers and water plus group kit. A dedicated avi gear compartment makes getting to your shovel and probe easy and faff free. There is also a fleece lined accessory pocket for goggles and a small internal security pocket.

The Alpride E1 system is a unique inflation system which is an integrated part of the pack. It uses a super capacitor to to power a turbine fan to rapidly inflate the airbag. As it is an electronic system there is no need for compressed gas cartridges, so everything you need is included in the pack. Unlike a Lithium Ion battery the super capacitor is unaffected by temperature so you will get the same charge level even down to -30 degrees. The system can be charged before a day out by micro USB or amazingly, by two AA batteries. Inserting two AA batteries into the system will charge it up in under an hour, making in field recharges possible with minimum extra weight. This also means that you can test fire your pack before each trip at minimal expense.
