Full Description
The Rab Muon 40 is a fast and light backpacker's dream pack. The pack is both stripped back and superlight, whilst also packed with features to make your life easier on the trail. The 100 denier high tenacity nylon (86% recycled) main body features a Spectra Ripstop finish making it as tough as much burlier mountaineering packs but with an overall weight of just under 1Kg (895g).
The pack features Rab's TRI-FLEX carry system made up of a breathable and supportive back system and a wrap around hipbelt with a shaped lumbar pad, making a fully loaded Muon pack remarkably comfortable. The shoulder straps feature running vest style pockets for things like mobile phones, compasses, snacks or other small essentials. For more easily accessible storage there are two stretch mesh pockets on the hip belt.
The outside of the pack features two large stretch stash pockets that are large enough for a Nalgene or other water bottle. The large front mesh stash packet is the ideal place to store wet waterproofs or a wet tent fly sheet, or both if it's been really wet overnight. There are attachment points for standard collapsible or Z folding trekking poles. The roll top closure allows pack to expand and compress as your kit changes and a top compression strap helps to stabilise the load.
