Full Description
The original version of the Petzl Sirocco became a popular choice particularly for use in the alps and long days out. This 2024 version takes the original successful design and adds a few improvements for better protection and increased usability. It remains super lightweight making it a great choice for those on big trips with long walk ins where every gram counts. The new open front profile makes the helmet rim invisible to the user and offers an unobstructed field of view.
The shape has been changed from the original one and it now offers increased protection at the sides and rear. The majority of the helmet remains EPP (expanded polypropylene) but a rigid crown with EPS (expanded polystyrene) has been added to increase strength and durability.
The Sirocco features excellent ventilation for comfort when moving fast. It is fully adjustable on both the headband and chinstrap with the chinstrap featuring the Petzl patented magnetic buckle enables the chin strap to be fastened with one hand. It's worth noting that the lightweight EPP foam used isn't as durable as harder helmet so the low weight of the Sirocco does come at a cost, although with the reinforced crown this is less of a problem than with it's predecessor, it is a great choice for any climbing trip where weight matters without compromising comfort.
