The Norrona Lofoten Gore-Tex Jacket is a versatile shell built for demanding freeride adventures and all your ski and snowboard activities. This jacket combines legendary performance with a warmer construction, making it ideal for various winter conditions. GORE-TEX ePE Performance delivers industry-leading waterproofness (28,000mm), optimized breathability (RET 20), and total windproofness – you'll stay dry and comfortable even in challenging weather. A recycled polyester face and a recycled brushed polyester flannel backer add warmth.
GORE-TEX ePE is a totally PFC free waterproof membrane designed by Gore to be more sustainable and cut out harmful long chain 'forever chemicals' found in normal PTFE waterproof membranes. The ePE membrane is thinner than standard GORE-TEX and GORE-TEX PRO, which results in a softer and more supple feel. It doesn't have the same stiff 'cardboardy' feel as older Gore membranes. The biggest performance difference you are most likely to notice is the DWR treatment. Unfortunately flurocarbons are some of the best, most hydrophobic chemicals out there. Getting rid of them does hit performance so you will notice that the nice 'beading' effect disappears quite quickly. Don't worry your GORE-TEX ePE jacket is still waterproof, but to maintain the beading effect you will need to top up the DWR more regularly
The Lofoten sticks to its freeride origins with a regular fit and longer Back Cut providing extra coverage and warmth for your lower back on long days in the snow. The helmet-compatible storm hood has one-hand adjustment for quick and easy protection, ensuring a secure fit over your helmet. A zip-off powder skirt provides extra protection against snow intrusion on deep powder days.
For on the hill storage there are two hand-warmer pockets, a spacious chest pocket for essentials, and an internal chest pocket for valuables. For extra ventilation when working hard there are two-way underarm zips.
