This is a very simple design of hoody, in basic 100 weight Polartec (not gridded as the description suggests) but none the worse for it. The construction is of good quality, with the cuffs, hood and zip flap all lycra bound on the edges. The hood and face aperture are close fitting, but not over-tight and the aperture comes well up under the chin, so forms a bit of a neck gaiter even with the hood down. I would describe the fit as "close but comfortable" (ie not overly athletic. ) The two pocket openings are generous and high (but not too high to be uncomfortable as hand warmers. ) The pockets themselves occupy the whole front of the jacket, so will easily accommodate a folded OS map, or a water bottle (or even a wine bottle! ) The Polartec 100 material is soft and very warm for its weight, and has a little bit of resistance to the wind. The ME logos are embroidered on, in reflective thread. I bought the "Cosmos" colour (which is really a fancy name for the colour of a dark night sky, ie a traditional, almost black, navy blue. All-in-all a highly functional and comfortable piece of kit, which trumps some of the fancier and more expensive hoodies I have tried in the past.
