The Black Diamond LiteWire Carabiner is light, strong, and a versatile carabiner which is hot forged with an I-beam cross section for maximum strength to weight. Great for racking single items such as Camalots. Although the LiteWire is small it has a 23mm gate opening that gives good handling even with gloves on.
The LiteWire has all the advantages of wiregate carabiners, namely they are lighter, have a wider gate opening for the carabiner size, the gates do not freeze shut in the cold and they are resistant to carabiner whiplash i.e. the lighter wire gate is less likely to open during a fall from the vibrations of the rope.
