The Beal Rando is a very light 30meter rope to have with you when walking or skiing in the mountains where snowfields and steep ground may be encountered and the team may want to 'rope up'.
At 37g per meter this rope has a diameter of 8mm and while perfectly safe for crossing glacier under no account should this rope be used for climbing or mountaineering.

Great value for an accessory rope from the best rope-making brand. I used it in mountaineering, for parallel-movement and easy traverses. Always in my pack, weight's minimum (less than 1kg) and packs in small space. Gives you confidence in difficult passes and doesn't need to take up many loops on you as it's 30m long. This is a twin rope, so with a second one you can climb if needed. I would prefer to be 'dry' for waterproofness, but comes only in 'standard'.

Excellent rope to have in the pack for ski mountaineering. Lightweight and compact but adequate for protecting the dodgier moments on ski tours/scrambles, and good for abbing/lowering into chutes etc. There are comparable products on the market but they seem to be heavier.

This rope is pretty much standard-issue in Chamonix for ski touring, ski mountaineering and glacier travel. Light, strong, packs small in your bag. Only ever had to use it for abseiling and crevasse rescue practice but has performed well and will surely last me for years to come.

I purchased this rope to add to my off piste equipment. It is very lightweight, packs down small into its own bag and very durable. It is perfect for roping up when out on glaciers, can thoroughly recommend. Note not to be used for climbing.

I brought one of these ropes for ski touring on glacier terrain. When skiing the rope doesn't come out all that often so I really wanted something as light as possible, whilst still be up to the job once it does come out. At 1. 2kg for 30m of rope this hit the nail right on the head. Handles nicely and works well in my Ropeman 2 for crevasse rescues and long enough for anything I'll be doing on skis.

I needed to buy a rope to take my ML Assessment. For this purpose it didn't need to be a technical rope but one for general use - mainly for confidence roping, simple abseil rescue or to create belays. This rope suits that need well. For a rope for only occasional use, I didn't want anything too big or heavy. So, this slightly thinner and shorter rope is lighter and packs smaller than comparable ropes, which was my first observation and came as a welcome surprise. Pros: Light-weight; packable size; comes with own storage bag (most ropes don't); reputable brand for quality assurance purposesCons: Slightly pricier than other 'confidence' ropes but still reasonable value. Bar practice rope work, I haven't used it 'in anger' yet but it seems fit for purpose and an all round good buy.

Most of the time when ski-touring the rope stays in your rucksack, to be brought out for occasional glacier crossings, especially in heavily-crevassed areas, or on short steep or icy sections of the route when some form of security is needed. A lightweight 30m rope is thus ideal for the purpose and with a weight of 37g/m this is an excellent choice at a competitive price.

Just what I was looking for and good price too

Excellent rope to have in the pack for via ferrata. Compact and lightweight for use in moments in need, but wouldn't use for extended climbing
