I read a lot of reviews of this product before buying it. . . I had high expectations. . . And I was incredibly satisfied when it arrived!

I use this jacket all year round. Pack it as an extra layer for summer as it will see of light rain and as winds increase near summits keeps the wind off. In winter I usually layer this with a thick hooded base layer for approaches which can be an hour long and even with a thinner base layer paired with my soft shell jacket I overheat. Excellent breathability low weight and pack size make this an ideal piece for quick trips with a small pack.

I purchased the Squamish mainly for skyrunning at altitudes above 2000m, where strong winds are not uncommon. At 183cm and 89kg I usually wear Large, but this time I went for Medium to save a little weight and give a smaller area for the wind to catch in - it fits no problem. I chose the Squamish because it's the most breathable windshirt on the market today, making it perfect for intense activities for those running on the warmer side, like me. Also, a slightly bigger chest pocket that fits thin gloves / buff / snacks and wrist velcros which stops the arms of the garment sliding over my palm are important features. The adjustable hood is an important feature as well in strong winds. Even if it's not the lightest windshirt you'll find, I chose this one for all the features and the superior durability of the material and the zippers. The only complaint I have is that the chord of the hood goes over your ears when tightened, making it slightly uncomfortable.

This piece is fantastic, it's incredibly light and will fold away into its breast pocket. It has some type of DWR coating so it's showerproof but not like GoreTex is. The funnel neck will keep out any breezes and the hood has a brim and a toggle adjuster for a great fit. It's a great piece to keep in your rucksack but it could equally be worn to the pub. I'd highly recommend this item.

Having been using a Patagonia Houdini for 3 years this is a whole step up in terms of performance. I used my Houdini in Alaska, ski touring in the Alps, trekking on Mt Kenya etc etc. it's a great piece of kit BUT as usual arcteryx take it to the next level. The hood is infinitely better. Has a peak. Fits over a helmet much better than the Houdini albeit still a little tight. The cuffs on the Houdini used to bug me in high winds as they let it in. The Squamish is bombproof. Similar levels of weatherproofness but I think the Squamish is marginally more durable? Finally the fit is so much better for me. Patagonia medium too small, large too baggy. Arcteryx medium perfect. I'm 182cm. 83kg. 32 waist.

Really excellent windproof jacket. The jacket is silly light, really easy to shove into a corner of a rucksack, or a side pocket. It's windproof (not yet tested the showerproofness), soft and completely quiet. You don't know you've got it on, except for the fact that there's no wind getting past your top layer. It's been lovely in warmish weather, yet to be tested in cold, but I look forward to layering it over fleece mid layers in cold weather. The pocket is smallish, but I don't like carrying loads of gear in my pockets, so this is fine. The zip is easy, the cuffs are mobile and I really prefer having rollable, non-elasticated cuffs with Velcro tabs. Much easier to roll, or tighten, or leave loose according to needs. Very pleased with this. Alongside my lightweight Arc'teryx Goretex, this is going to be a favourite outer layer.

Super-lightweight, packs down to nothing. Small enough to put in the back pocket of a cycling jersey. Really well made, excellent quality and a great fit. Happy to have such a great go-to product for all outdoor activities.

I found this product after researching into the lightest, most compact wind jacket. This item is brilliant, so easy to store, flexible, high wind resistance and comfortable on the shoulder and arms (which has always been an issue). It's not the cheapest product but I with the features I thought it would be worth the buy. I would recommend this product and found this place to be the cheapest. Fast delivery.

I was looking for one windproof jacket that could be used for numerous activities including hiking, climbing mountain biking and even casual use. Size is in accordance with other Arc'teryx tops I have, all being a medium. I am 5'11 and just under 12 stone, 40 inch chest. The cut of this one is roomy enough for a medium weight layer underneath (like an Arc'teryx Atom LT) and has great freedom of movement, including reaching above my head The sleeves are also long enough for use on my mountain bike and I have got quite long arms, sometimes I have an issue there. Material is quite thin but feels stiffer and more substantial than an equivalent Pertex (which I think feels quite soft) and seems to be backed up with a thick ripstop weave. I expect it will be quite durable, but this remains to tested. The hood has effective adjustment and cinches down well but the peak is quite short. The single pocket is quite small, just about fits my smartphone but that's about it. Yet to be tested in bad weather, but so far, I think this will be my main jacket for most variable conditions for 3/4 of the year.

This garment is suitable for the transition between summer and autumn, being a very thin skin suit. It's great for surfing, climbing, and sports. Of course, I still prefer it in black.
