Ski Touring in Yorkshire

More photos have been added to the set for this grand day out so I have moved it back to the top.

The chance of skiing in Yorkshire was too hard to resist so myself, Jake and James and a few of our mates headed off to Upper Wharfedale first thing yesterday to see if we could find some good snow. We had seen promising pictures of the snow in Settle on the local news and combined with what we knew of the area from mountain biking and local races we decided to try the Hawkswick ridge as we knew the gradient was consistant and relatively rock free. The snow was heavy on this slope but the opposite slope above Kettlewell turned out to where the good stuff was. We did a couple of laps there as the snow was in really good condition and then into Kettlewell for a drink and caught the bus back to the cars. A grand day out!
