This is a great sleeping pad, very comfortable and durable and feels like a mattress. Because of its weight and bulk it isn't best suited for backpacking but for base and car camping you hardly find better one. It inflates and deflates super-easy, and it packs neatly and easy to transport. Definitely worth the money too.

I have used this matt on one trip and am very satisfied with it. I have for many years used inflatable mattresses and poorer quality self-inflating mattresses, but we wanted something more comfortable. My matt (a large one) is well built and I slept comfortably on it once I adjusted the pressure to get the right amount of firmness. We also bought a standard sized matt that although functioned equally well, as well as shorter is considerably narrower (and cheaper) the former being a negative point. With time over we would have bought two large matts.

This was actually meant to be a purchase for my partner for use in our small van conversion. I already have a BaseCamp mat for my own use but this LuxuryMAP is so comfy, I will be stealing it when she is not coming on trips! This was 'regular' size and I am 6'2 but it is plenty long enough for me. Very comfortable, self inflation works well and quality finish. Only slight negative things I could say about it was that gave off a slight bad smell when taken out the packaging - probably one of the solvents used, but this went away after a couple of days. Also, this is a heavy mat but it was never going to be a backpacking mat, and for use in the van it is ideal.

I've previously used Thermarest Womens Pro Lite & Thermarest Basecamp mattresses, they have both been excellent sleeping mats and the Thermarest luxury Map is no exception - It's my favourite sleeping mat so far. It provides a very comfortable nightssleep. Well worth the slight increase in pack size for the additional extra warmth & comfort. It is a bit heavier, but if I'm travelling light, I use the Pro lite. I use this mat when we take the car and go camping as a family. We are so impressed with the Luxury Map that my husband has bought one too. I bought large and my husband X-large, if you are buying a thicker mat, don't scrimp on the width.

I have 2 slipped disks and my partner has been referred for physiotherapy for a bad back and to top it off, we are both overweight - all of which are not conducive to a good nights sleep when camping UNTIL WE FOUND THESE! . We have used various inflatable beds and futons over the years but never with any real measure of success. I was sceptical about these thinking that they would not bear our weight and would just cause painful hips digging into the ground. I inflated them as per the instructions for couple of days before we went away and when we got to the site, let them auto inflate. I added a couple of breaths to mine and just one to hers and then set up our bed. We went to bed that night and to be totally honest, it was more comfortable than our orthopedic mattress at home. We had no issues with cold from underneath (as is often the case with inflatables) and these beds stayed inflated the whole week we were away. I am now raving about these and recommending them to anyone who will listen. They are well worth the money. The only negative was that there were no instructions on use and I had to google them. Plan to get them before you go away and over-inflate for 24 hours. I am fortunate to have storage space but remember that it is recommended that these are stored inflated and not rolled.

I have had a large size Luxury Map for several years and it has always been supremely comfortable in all terrains and seasons (even when camping in a wood with loads of prominent roots). Got this regular size one for my wife after she fell in love with mine. Good things to know are:1) Regular size is significantly lighter to carry than the larger sizes, but is still a comfortable fit for most sizes of people - I wish I could trade my large one in for a regular. 2) The purple Luxury Maps are a newer model, the old model is blue. The only difference I have been able to tell Between them is that the new purple ones come with compression straps on the carry bag, where the older model doesn't have any. These are great for both packing and making it so much easier to attach to a rucksack. 3) Remember to always store your Luxury Map unrolled when you aren't travelling - it really makes it self-expand much faster and fuller.

Just used it for camping on a long wet cold weekend. Very comfortable and insulative - better than the conventional mattresses in our boat

I originally ordered the Large Thermarest-LuxuryMAP, which was extremely comfortable, indeed luxurious. However, I bought the mat to go on a motorcycle trip and the large version was simply too big. I subsequently exchanged it for the Regular size, which although it is still quite bulky, is noticeably less wide and suited my purpose in terms of size. I have yet to go on this motorcycle trip, but have tried lying on the mattress, which is extremely comfortable. I have always struggled with camping mats, partly because I am quite skinny and feel every lump and bump. I am confident that this mat will be comfortable enough for me and that I will get a good nights sleep. From my limited experience of using it, I would recommend that it is a very comfortable mat, but as suggested in other reviews, it is not something to take in a backpack, or where space is at a premium.

I have had a thin thermarest for years and although this is quite a bit bulkier it is super comfy. If you are over or near 6 foot think carefully on size as standard is fine for me but only(5'10). I have never had issues with the standard width of previous mat. The free chair kit was a massive bonus.
